The 2014 school year officially begins on 15th January 2014. But before the year begins we want you and your child to be fully prepared for what you might face this year and we have compiled a list of important information and notices for the school year.
- The school shop will be open on the 10th, 11th, and 13th of January from 8am to 12pm. On the 12th of January it will be open from 12:30pm to 2:30pm. Please take this opportunity to buy all school items you will need for your child that will be available at the shop before the new year begins. Note that all children from grades one o seven can be sent to detention if they are missing an important item (e.g. their school caps for the boys, or sunhats for both boys and girls).
- On 16th January 2014 grades 1 to 3 parents can attend a parents' evening at the school, during which you will be introduced to your child's teacher and get a general look for what to expect in the junior primary that year, as well as in the specific grade your child is in. If you have children in different JP grades and want to get the full know-how, you can set up a private meeting with your child's teacher during tea after the parents' evening is done.
- There will be no sport on the first two days back at school except for the grade seven and six boys who were given a letter the previous year asking them to attend a cricket session on the first day back at school, and all those children who were in the A and B swimming squads the previous year, as well as new children who wish to try out for the squad, and other children who wish to try out for the swimming team. Tryouts for the swimming squads will be held on the 16th so as not to cause the cricket boys any hassle.
- On 17th January the grades 4 to 7 parents' evening will take place, and will be structured in a similar fashion to the grades 1 - 3 evening.
- A haircut check for the boys will take place on 15th January. Please make sure your child's hair has been properly cut and groomed otherwise this may lead to a detention for your son.
Thank you for reading and we hope you enjoy the 2014 year with us!
