A big congratulations is due to the A squad swimmers for their fantastic performance at St. Joseph's Friendly Gala on 5 February 2014. This took place just before the official A League Gala which is to take place at Peachwood Primary on 21 February 2014, and our swimmers really gave it their all. The girls finished in fourth place in their division (two places up from their A League position last year) and the boys came sixth (one up from their A League position last year).
Special congratulations to out to Jessica Heathrow, the 2014 swimming captain, who beat her personal best in the 100m butterfly. We also thank all the spectators who went out to support their school as their support really inspired our swimmers to succeed to the best of their ability. The grade seven Spirit Representatives, Faye Stuart and Fred Kingston, are also thanked for helping the school with formal war cries, and to Rebecca Balladon and Cailey Richter-Snyman, two of our grade ones who offered to dress up as our school mascot, a horse.
The sports department is proud of and thankful to you all!
