We would like to congratulate the following grade sevens for being selected as monitors for the year 2014. On Friday 31st January a special assembly was held to honour these children who received their badges and special dark blue grade seven monitors' jerseys. These jerseys are only available to grade seven monitors and are completely free of charge and help to identify them as leaders at the school. They are an optional part of the school uniform and have the word "Monitor" written on the back. These jerseys are a new addition to the uniform and will hopefully be worn with pride.
Grade seven monitors are selected to help in the computer room, homework club centre, junior primary, marketing department and performing arts department. Two additions to the grade seven monitoring duties were also made this year with the inclusion of three tuck shop monitors and two head media monitors (selected from the group of media monitors the previous year).
Please note that one grade seven may be selected as a monitor for several duties. This has happened several times in the past and is not open for discussion amongst the grade sevens by themselves. Please do not complain to the grade seven teachers about monitoring duties as they do not officially select the different monitors. It is up to the HODs in the different monitoring departments as well as Mr Asad and Mr Harrison who are in charge of the Grade Seven Leadership Committee (they also select the prefects who are announced at the end of the second term).
